Has anyone here played NFS Shift 2?
I bought it for $20 at Toys R Us. I really liked the original Shift, but I don't know how good this one is. Anyone on Oppo have it?

I let it sit for almost a year hoping for an update. I traded it in. The lag in the steering is about half a second. It was awful. Totally unplayable. I really liked the first one so I was basically devastated.

I've got it. It's pretty good. If you liked the first one you'll like this one.

I played it. Well, lass than half of it.
I like the idea behind the whole camera-in-helmet thing, but it just didn't work out for me. I'd always get disoriented and never could tell where the car or the wheels are pointin. And it's not just first person view, even from behind the car I remember the camera shaking and moving about far too much.
The controls are somewhere between arcade-simulation, but more on the arcade side. Good sense of speed, but you can never tell when the car is at it's limit of grip, because it always seems like it's just about to break loose. And when it does, it's not easy to control.I have been playing with a controller and not a wheel, though, so that might have something to do with it.
But, I do applaud the sound and lighting, I remember those to be very impressive.
The car customization was alright, too, even though you can't afford many parts for a long time. A lot of original real-world wheels and stuff.
And I remember some cars which aren't usually available in other games, which made me happy.
I'd say it's a good game, it just wasn't to my taste.

The steering has always been a problem for any Need for Speed game. I remember the first time I played anything other than NFS, I was amazed at the steering.

I played it. It was ok. One of the last decent N4S games. Original shift was better still.

Haha, yes, and now after I've... matured, I just can't stand any NFS game which I don't have close to my heart. (For me, anything after Underground 2 is garbage).
Forza pretty much ruined arcade car games for me. It's just so good...

I have Horizon and it's just a night and day difference over the NFS Rivals

I have it, but didn't play it much... mostly because I'm just over racing sims... nothing against the game. I still have Dirt3 sitting in a drawer... never played.

One of, if not my favorite racing game. Once you get the controls tuned right (if you're using a controller) it is a blast. The works converted cars are just insane.
